Artfire shop

I've just opened an Artfire shop. The great thing about Artfire is that you can view the prices in pounds and you don't have to buy in dollars like you do on Etsy. Still a got a few more things to add but it's getting there...

Felt birds

I've made some little felt birds...

They're actually quite tiny and look bigger in the photos! The blue one is my favorite.

Easter cards

My Easter crafts started a bit late this year (I made my cards a couple of days before!) Only managed to create one card using felt...

The basket is made out of one piece of felt with pink ribbon threaded through it. I cut the eggs out of green card and on the middle egg I layered some pink mesh paper over the top. The letters are from a sheet of letter transfers.

This Easter card doesn't include any felt but I love the dotty paper! The egg is made out of recycled card with dotty paper covering it. I then wrapped some ribbon around the egg and stuck a button in the middle.

Wedding cards

This weekend I've been busy making some wedding cards. They're based around a wedding cake template that I created.

The beads are attached to the card with some invisible thread. I made a small hole with a safety pin and attached the invisible thread to the back with some sellotape. I then threaded the bead onto the thread and stuck the free end of the thread back down the hole and attached it. The bead sits over the hole so you can't see it.

The Felt House - etsy shop

I've finally opened my etsy shop! I've launched it with 3 different versions of my flower card, blue, purple and pink (the orange is coming soon).

Hopefully I'll get time to work on some more colour versions this week, or maybe even an easter version. I can't wait for my first sale!

Cupcake card

This week I decided to make a cupcake card for my friend's birthday as she loves cooking and making cakes.

I sewed pleats in the cupcake case to give it a bit of texture. I assembled all the parts and added some stuffing in the middle before attaching it to the card. A button 'cherry' finished it off.

The Felt House - new blog header

I've just designed and uploaded a new blog header based on my blog name. It's my first attempt at a custom header. The felt house took a couple of evenings to make and kind of evolved as I went along. I stitched the windows and the door on with matching thread and stitched all the sides together with a contrasting purple thread. Had a slight mishap when I stitched the back on the wrong way round and ended up with 2 chimneys (I don't think you can tell that I had to cut one off)!
