Advent calendar - 2 December

2 December and the first advent parcel arrives through the door to go with the film. Brown paper packages wrapped up in string...

See what's in the parcel by looking at the film below...

Advent calendar - 1 December

Last year I did an advent calendar for my sister - everyday I emailed her a little advent film. Some days she even got a little parcel to go with it. The 1 December is just a film day, here it is...

Butterfly card

I made this card for my friend's birthday...

The leaf background is a self-adhesive felt border that I picked up in the sale at Dunelm. The butterflies were adhesive outlines which I flocked. The flocking and the felt compliment each other really well and the blue leaves really make the pink butterflies stand out.

(It wasn't the easiest card to photograph! It looks a lot pretty in the flesh!)

Radley wedding card

One of my friends loves Radley bags so for her wedding I made them a Radley dog themed card.

I found some wide lace ribbon to use as a 'wedding dress' and some thin lace ribbon as a dog collar.

The suit is made out of paper with some purple ribbon used as a 'tie'. The dogs are attached to the card with foam pads so they stick out above the heart.

Don't they look cute!

Dotty leaving card/scrapbook

One of my friends recently left to go back to Canada after spending 6 months in England. Instead of doing a normal style leaving card I decided to create a concentina card that had 8 sides so I could include more pictures on it.

There was a dotty theme to her leaving present so I continued this on the card. I found some lovely dotty wrapping paper in Oliver Bonas (they do it in red, blue and pink!) to create a union jack front cover.

5 sides of the card then had pictures of things she did while she was here.

All the words  were stamped with my alphabet revolving stamper.

I ended the card with a cd of all the photos from her time in England. I made a cd pocket to attach to the card and covered this in more of the dotty paper.

Something she can keep forever to remind her of her English adventure!

New Home Card

My sister and her husband have just bought a house so I made her a new home card using the house advertisement section of the newspaper. I managed to find one just advertising the sold houses which I thought was quite appropriate.

The key is made out of cardboard and painted with metallic paint. The letters were made with some alphabet rubber stamp sets that I bought a few weeks ago. They were so cheap I ended up buying 5 sets in different fonts!

All the letters and the key were attached to the card with foam pads to make them stand out against the background.

Artfire shop

I've just opened an Artfire shop. The great thing about Artfire is that you can view the prices in pounds and you don't have to buy in dollars like you do on Etsy. Still a got a few more things to add but it's getting there...

You can buy the purple flower button card above on Artfire. I have the card in more colours listed in my etsy shop.
